John Jurow, CEO

John Jurow, a dedicated leader in healthcare, serves as the CEO of the San Mateo County Health Foundation. Born and raised in Burlingame, California, John’s deep roots in San Mateo County have shaped his unwavering commitment to the community. He calls the vibrant city of San Mateo home, where he resides with his two sons. Before assuming his role at the Foundation, John spent over a decade in the Radiology department of the San Mateo Medical Center, eventually rising to the position of Interim Deputy Director of Ancillary Services. His tenure in the field has equipped him with a profound understanding of the intricate workings of medical institutions and the importance of equitable access to quality care.


Now leading the San Mateo County Health Foundation, John is fueled by his passion to ensure that cutting-edge technology, innovative procedures, and skilled professionals are accessible to all, irrespective of financial barriers. Collaborating with a dedicated board of directors, he drives initiatives aimed at advancing healthcare within the community.


John’s vision and leadership embody the Foundation’s commitment to fostering a healthier and more equitable future for San Mateo County residents. His unwavering dedication ensures that quality care is upheld as an essential right for every individual, not a privilege.

Dana Floro

Dana Floro, Director of Operations

Dana Floro’s professional journey reflects a remarkable blend of community dedication, corporate expertise, and nonprofit commitment. Born in the Philippines and settling in Burlingame, Dana balanced raising her three children while actively engaging in community events and spearheading fundraising initiatives.


With nearly two decades at Visa Inc, she excelled in client services, human resources, and global sponsorship and events management, orchestrating innovative programs for prestigious events like the Olympics, World Cup, and Super Bowl. Transitioning seamlessly to the nonprofit sector, Dana championed independence for individuals with disabilities while launching a thriving small business in floral design during the pandemic. Now a valued member of the SMCHF team, Dana collaborates to enhance healthcare access, driven by her unwavering commitment to community betterment.

His extensive portfolio includes work on short films, documentaries, and key roles in video production across manufacturing, e-commerce, and wedding films. Beyond his mastery in visual storytelling, Cruz brings a solid background in business development and sales from the SaaS industry. As a content creator, he is also dedicated to developing his own personal brand, continuously exploring new avenues to inspire and engage audiences.
