Formerly known as Food Boxes for Food Insecure Families, we started this program at the beginning of the pandemic to provide food insecure patients at San Mateo Medical Center and their families a supply of locally sourced produce, proteins and dairy. Through our partnership with The Samaritan House, we are able to give 250 households access to nutritious food and groceries each week.
With your support, we hope to expand this program even further and to more households in our community. The Foundation is in need of funding to help purchase a refrigerated truck to keep food boxes fresh each week as it travels to the SMMC hospital and its clinics where food will be distributed to food insecure families. Help us meet our goal by donating $25 or more.
We are proud to share that San Mateo Medical Center was awarded the Quality Leaders Award for Innovation for their work on Food Insecurity. Learn about the food issues they identified and solutions they implemented, and see how our combined efforts make an impact on so many.
